Entering the Conscious World of the Artist's Abyss in Illusionary Oil Painting

Since Tianqu's "Invisible Realm" became an important unit of May in France in 2022, Tianqu will once again collaborate with May in France in 2023 to present a wonderful exhibition - "Awakening of Consciousness - Tibetan Yuan Solo Exhibition", showcasing the "Consciousness Series" oil paintings created by French artist Tibetan Yuan during the epidemic period, with an exhibition period from June 2 to July 14.

As a new representative of contemporary Western abstractionism and the fourth generation of French painters after Lin Fengmian, Chang Yu, and Zhao Wuji, Zangyuan presents his exploration of a unique path of abstraction through sets of canvases.

The theme "Awakening of Consciousness" originates from the artist's interpretation of his own oil painting reproductions work in letters written to friends. After completing the first piece of this series, I began to touch upon the essence of perception and consciousness. If it were to be said that Zangyuan's past creations were a composite of the natural spirit extracted from the real world and the subjective nature of the artist, then since the transformation of his creative style in 2021, Zangyuan's creations have transformed into poetry rooted in personal inner self examination and spirituality.

The "Consciousness Series" encompasses Zangyuan's further philosophical exploration of this theme. In his works, he reveals the connections between human body, spiritual soul, desire, space, external experience, moral sense, and worldview through disorderly and wriggling lines and color blocks. It further shows his transcendence of the traditional framework of abstract art, and his control of personal painting language and color.

The lines in the work are like the detachment of the artist's consciousness, and are born through the channels of the body and the gestures of painting, becoming eternal on the canvas.

The movement and flow of matter, the effect of texture, the contrast of light and shade, portrait painting the mastery of depth or closure of space, and the struggle and dramatic emanative development of the picture, as well as a simple and pure feeling, combined with bright and full colors such as red, pink, yellow, and light green, present the artist's transcendence in abstract form, ideas, and pure aesthetics. The artist's distinct personality and unique custom oil painting style will also leave a deep impression on the audience.
